Orc leveling from 1 to 20 in Lineage 2 Interlude begins at Pa’agrio Temple. The character then heads to Orc Village and explores Immortal Plateau, Frozen Waterfalls, or Cave of Trials.

Orc Fighter chooses Orc Raider or Orc Monk, while Orc Mystic prepares to advance to Orc Shaman. They share the same starting territory, but their equipment, combat pace, and reasons for returning to the village differ.

These recommendations assume rules close to the original Lineage 2 Interlude, without altered balance, a custom NPC buffer, or simplified consumables. If your build includes the standard newcomer-assistance NPC, check the options available in its dialogue.

Quick Orc leveling route from 1 to 20

The table provides a direction, but does not replace checking the area yourself. Judge a hunting spot by how much health or MP each fight consumes, how nearby monsters react, and whether you can retreat safely.

Character level Route and objective
1–5 Pa’agrio Temple and the nearby fields. Learn the controls, quests, and primary attack method.
5–10 Orc Village and the northern part of Immortal Plateau. Take available errands and build a supply of consumables.
10–14 More distant plateau roads. Look for single targets and avoid dense groups.
14–17 The southern plateau or the area around Frozen Waterfalls. Test a new hunting spot with one safe fight.
17–20 Stay outdoors, enter Cave of Trials with a group, or begin traveling toward other areas.
Before level 20 Choose the first class and begin its trial by following the quest journal; complete the transfer when it becomes available.

If Fighter needs to heal after every target or Mystic remains without mana for too long, change the area. Speed comes from completing many fights without long pauses.

How Orc Fighter and Orc Mystic differ

Orc Fighter depends on weapons, healing, and Soulshots—charges that strengthen physical attacks. Orc Mystic uses Spiritshots for magic and consumes MP, the mana used to activate skills.

Archetype Regular combat cycle
Orc Fighter Selects a single target, closes to melee range, uses an active attack, and finishes the fight with regular hits.
Orc Mystic Opens with an available spell, checks the remaining MP, and decides whether to continue hunting or recover.

Fighter may feel clearer to players who prefer weapon combat. Before the first class transfer, choose one weapon type and invest SP—skill points—in abilities you use consistently.

Mystic follows a different rhythm. Check the remaining MP before the next fight. If there is not enough mana to finish it with spells, choose a more convenient target or recover.

What to do at the beginning

Complete the introductory dialogues at Pa’agrio Temple. The quest journal will show the next NPC, target, or issued item. Before traveling, learn how to cancel an attack and pick up loot.

In Orc Village, find the trainer for your archetype, merchants, and the warehouse. If the standard newcomer-assistance NPC is available, check its dialogue, but do not treat its gifts as mandatory. Without that assistance, continue with the reward from introductory quests or an inexpensive weapon from a merchant.

Before leaving for the plateau:

  1. Learn one primary attack skill and the necessary passive skills.
  2. Place healing and shots near it on the shortcut bar.
  3. Add Scroll of Escape after obtaining or buying one.
  4. Sell unnecessary loot and free several inventory slots.

Keep enough Adena for shots, healing, and travel during the class-transfer trial.

Where to level an Orc up to level 20 in Interlude

Levels 1–5: Pa’agrio Temple

Look for the first targets near the spawn point. A suitable enemy can be defeated without constant potion use and does not consume the entire MP reserve.

Fighter opens with an active attack and finishes with regular hits. Mystic keeps their distance. In both cases, choose a target so there is a clear route behind the character toward a safe area.

Levels 5–10: the village and northern Immortal Plateau

On Immortal Plateau, combine hunting with quests from the village. Compare the target name with the objective: a similar monster may not drop the required quest item.

After completing several stages in one trip, sell loot, learn skills, and replenish consumables.

Levels 10–14: distant plateau roads

Move away from the village gradually. If one mistake brings several enemies into the fight, choose the edge of the area or return to the previous spot.

For example, Orc Fighter sees a target near a fork, but another monster is moving behind a rock. Instead of attacking immediately, wait until the first target moves toward the road. The fight starts later, but the healing supply remains available for the next encounter.

The target-name color helps compare levels, but does not show how nearby monsters react. Do not begin a fight in the middle of a dense group.

Levels 14–17: southern plateau and Frozen Waterfalls

On the southern plateau and around Frozen Waterfalls, begin at the edge of the area and evaluate one fight. The name of a zone does not guarantee suitable difficulty.

Fighter keeps healing on the shortcut bar, while Mystic saves enough MP to finish the fight. If recovery takes too long, return to the previous area.

Do not move deeper only because you have reached a particular level. Target behavior and open space around the character matter more than the range in a table.

Levels 17–20: outdoors or in Cave of Trials

Stay on the plateau. Familiar roads are convenient for finishing errands and accumulating Adena.

Move to Frozen Waterfalls. Test a new target in an open area. If your usual attack method performs worse, change the enemy rather than spend the entire supply of consumables compensating for the problem.

Enter Cave of Trials with a group. Cave of Trials limits visibility. Treat the first visit as reconnaissance, and do not assume that a high monster density guarantees faster leveling.

Leave the starting territory. This option suits a player who wants to begin traveling along the class-transfer route in advance. Follow the direction shown by the current trial stage.

Weapons, shots, and the starting economy

Soulshots and Spiritshots must match the weapon grade. At the beginning, equipment is usually No Grade, or NG—the initial equipment category. Compare the shot and weapon labels before buying.

If the build provides newcomer shots, enable automatic use. After they run out, monitor the supply of regular consumables. A cheaper target that dies quickly can be more efficient than a strong enemy that consumes many shots and healing items.

Choose a weapon for the attack method you actually use. Fighter should not buy expensive weapons for three different styles at once. Mystic evaluates how useful a weapon is for magic rather than looking only at physical attack. Every purchase should leave enough Adena for travel.

Useful quests before level 20

Introductory errands, hunting quests near the village, and stages that lead toward the next area can be useful at the start. Specific names, admission levels, and rewards are omitted here unless they are confirmed for an attributed Interlude build.

Read the current step before leaving the village. If a quest leads to Cave of Trials while the character struggles outdoors, return to it later or find a group. Receiving a quest does not mean it must be completed immediately.

Keep every issued item until the quest is turned in. The game may ask you to deliver, equip, or use it. A stronger regular weapon does not always satisfy a quest condition in place of the issued item.

Preparing for the Orc’s first class transfer

Around level 20, Orc Fighter chooses Orc Raider or Orc Monk. Orc Mystic has one first class—Orc Shaman.

First class Primary focus
Orc Raider Melee physical combat with weapons and active attack skills.
Orc Monk Melee combat focused on fist weapons and active attacks.
Orc Shaman Magic and support with careful MP management.

The first class determines the character’s primary play style.

Before the trial, sell unnecessary loot, replenish consumables, and keep all issued items. Check the quest journal and game dialogues for the specific NPC, required conditions, and stages of the selected branch. If the transfer is not yet available, gain the remaining experience on familiar single targets.

How to leave the starting territory

Orcs begin on the mainland, so no ship is needed to leave the starting area. You can follow the roads or use a Gatekeeper—an NPC that moves the character between destinations listed in its dialogue.

Do not memorize prices or destinations from a guide for another version. Open the map, speak to the Gatekeeper, and choose an option shown by your client. When traveling on foot, do not cut through unfamiliar groups of monsters.

Read the class-transfer trial description before traveling. Gludio, Gludin, and other towns cannot be treated in advance as the mandatory first stop for every branch.

Mistakes that slow down leveling

Overestimating Fighter’s health reserve. Several enemies consume it faster than one strong target. Begin at the edge and do not stand between the target and a nearby group.

Learning attacks for every weapon. Before the first class transfer, it is more efficient to use one style confidently than to spend SP on skills that remain unused on the shortcut bar.

Hunting with Mystic while MP is empty. Recover mana before the next fight. Trying to replace magic with prolonged weapon attacks often results in unnecessary expenses.

Spending the last Adena on an upgrade. After a purchase, keep enough Adena for healing, shots, and travel during the class-transfer quest.

Expecting a universal buffer. If the build includes standard newcomer assistance, use the options in the NPC dialogue. A custom set of buffs from another server is not part of the original route.

Checklist for level 20

  • A first class has been selected: Orc Raider, Orc Monk, or Orc Shaman.
  • The current quest shows the next NPC and direction.
  • Quest items have been kept, and several inventory slots are free.
  • The weapon matches the primary attack method, and the shots match its grade.
  • Healing and shots are on the shortcut bar; Scroll of Escape has been added after obtaining or buying one.
  • Unfinished errands have been deliberately left for later.
  • Enough Adena remains after purchases for travel and replenishing consumables.

FAQ

Where should an Orc level up to 20 in Interlude?

Start at Pa’agrio Temple, then move to Orc Village and the more distant roads of Immortal Plateau. After that, choose the southern plateau or the area around Frozen Waterfalls. Closer to level 20, you can stay outdoors, enter Cave of Trials with a group, or follow the class-transfer route.

Which is better for a beginner: Orc Fighter or Orc Mystic?

Fighter may feel clearer to players who prefer continuous weapon combat. Mystic requires monitoring MP and taking more recovery breaks; Orc Mystic has one first class—Orc Shaman.

Where can I get a starting weapon and shots?

Check the introductory quests, merchants, and the standard newcomer-assistance NPC if it is available in your build. The route should also work without gifts, using a regular weapon from a quest or shop.

Should I enter Cave of Trials alone?

For a first character, beginning in the outdoor areas is safer. Enter for reconnaissance or with a group, stay close to the exit, and keep a reserve of consumables.

Which first classes are available to an Orc?

Orc Fighter chooses Orc Raider or Orc Monk. Orc Mystic advances to Orc Shaman. Check the quest journal and game dialogues for the exact trial sequence.

Sources and verification limits

This article contains no links to fan databases, community wikis, or private-server websites. The official NC Japan chronology confirms the Japanese release of Interlude on March 27, 2007, while an archive of the western Lineage II website provides context for that period. These pages do not confirm monster levels, rewards, or starting-quest conditions, so those numbers are not included in the route.

Exact rewards, monster levels, buff sets, and class-transfer requirements should be added only after verification against an official archive or an attributed target Interlude build.

The level-range route is an editorial recommendation for beginners, not an export of server parameters. In the target build, check the quest journal, NPC dialogues, and the actual behavior of the selected target.
